This is a 4-hour online course which takes place over two consecutive Saturdays. Sessions will take place from 15:00 - 17:00 on Saturday 4th November and Saturday 11th November 2023

Course overview:
This course is aimed at professionals, who would like to become more versatile teachers who are as confident teaching a group of absolute beginners as working with advanced students. In the course you will become more aware of how to
• support your starters and make sure they do not give up learning
• give instructions in English if your students cannot speak English yet
• train your students to become effective learners
• deal with students who are reluctant to use complex structures
• challenge those who have been studying for a while

The trainer
The trainer is Kateryna Whittaker, is a CELTA, DELTA (Module 2) qualified teacher, who is currently teaching ESOL courses in the UK. She teaches a wide range of levels, A1 to C1, and different age groups, from very young learners to adults. She also prepares students for Cambridge and Pearson international exams and helps other teachers to grow professionally.

Istanbul is a major city in Turkey that straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus Strait. Its Old City reflects cultural influences of the many empires that once ruled here. In the Sultanahmet district, the open-air, Roman-era Hippodrome was for centuries the site of chariot races, and Egyptian obelisks also remain. The iconic Byzantine Hagia Sophia features a soaring 6th-century dome and rare Christian mosaics.
