This is a 4-hour online course which takes place over two consecutive Saturdays. Sessions will take place from 15:00 - 17:00 on Saturday 2nd December and Saturday 9th December 2023

Course overview:
A practical, introductory course on teaching Lexis:
• What students need to know about lexis and what makes it difficult to learn
• Main principles of vocabulary learning
• What helps learners retain lexis
• Stages of a vocabulary-focused lesson
• CCQs and how to use them
• Exercises that help to practice vocabulary
• Recycling and revision of lexis

The trainer:
Irina has over 15 years of experience teaching English. She is a DELTA and TESOL holder. Irina specializes in teaching general English to teens and adults, preparation for IELTS and the Russian State Exam. She also conducts webinars and ELT training courses.

Istanbul is a major city in Turkey that straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus Strait. Its Old City reflects cultural influences of the many empires that once ruled here. In the Sultanahmet district, the open-air, Roman-era Hippodrome was for centuries the site of chariot races, and Egyptian obelisks also remain. The iconic Byzantine Hagia Sophia features a soaring 6th-century dome and rare Christian mosaics.
