It was great
It was a unique experience with lots of learning opportunities through course units, discussion forums, built-in videos, links to various ELT sources and one-to-one tutoring. This course is really good value for money and the best thing that has happened to me during the coronavirus lockdown. I wholeheartedly recommend this particular CELTA by ITI, and I would like to thank my tutors Liz and Tom for all the support provided me during the teaching practices.
I experienced a fruitful month alongside my peers and tutors, it was all really well-planned and great. Thank you ITI.
Zoom - based course. So cannot really judge location and site. Overall, it's impressive how much hard work is also done on 'the other side' @ITI and at the same time I had the feeling of being taken good care of. The course is very well structured and besides several small errors in the course units almost everything is 100% good in my opinion. Only one thing: in our over-informed time, the allowed size of assignment might better be extended to 750 - 1250 instead of 1000. I always felt a bit limited by the 1000. I thought I had more to say. Moodle misbehaves from time to time, so the status of the units is not really reflecting what happened. The system lost track of progress from time to time. Congratulations Cambridge and ITI. : - ).
I enjoyed this course and learned a lot. I feel well-prepared moving forward. The TPs were good practice and I feel like I was given a variety of teaching practice both at two different levels and different types of lessons. Some weeks there was frankly too much work to do to feel like I was really giving it my best; the combination of TPs, modules, assignments, etc. was rigorous and although this course is advertised as a "part-time" format, I was spending over 40 hours per week once TP started. Perhaps it would be beneficial to give people a more accurate understanding of how much work there is involved.
