Taking the CELTA course has been one of the most intense, yet most rewarding experiences of my professional life. From day one, I knew it would be rigorous—and it truly lived up to its reputation. The pace was demanding, the expectations were high, and the learning curve was steep. However, every challenge was an opportunity to grow, not only as a teacher but also as a learner. What made the journey so meaningful was the constant support from the tutors, the constructive feedback, and the sense of community among trainees. Each teaching practice pushed me beyond my comfort zone, while the input sessions provided practical, research-based strategies that I will carry with me throughout my teaching career. Although there were moments of exhaustion and self-doubt, they were always met with moments of clarity, achievement, and personal triumph. The CELTA doesn’t just train you—it transforms you. My overall experience on the CELTA course at ITI Istanbul was very positive. The first week was overwhelming and challenging, and at one point I almost gave up, but with the amazing support and guidance from my tutors, Aleyona and Robyn, I kept going and improved every day. They were kind, patient, and always there to help. The course is very intensive, you have to plan, teach, study, and do assignments all at once, but it’s also very rewarding. I learned so much, not just about teaching, but about myself too. I also met wonderful friends and housemates who felt like family and were so supportive throughout the journey.
